Looking after over 400 historic properties, with 11 million visitors each year, it acts as a champion for heritage, maintaining a register of England's most important historic buildings, monuments and landscapes.
English Heritage is sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and it also relies heavily on the income that is generated from visitors and memberships to reinvest in the upkeep and maintenance of these precious national assets and to improve public access and education. English Heritage currently has just under 700,000 members and we hope to continue to grow this figure over the coming years.
