Another view of Ryanair.....

Post by macliam » Mon Nov 11 2019 1:09am

For those of us who hold our nose and fly with "Europe’s Favourite Airline", a little ditty from Foil Arms & Hog......

Ring true? It does to me ....... having had a run-in with the "baggage bitch" in the past :shifty:

This builds on the legendary "Cheap Flights" from Fascinating Aida ...... and if you haven't seen that classic, it's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAg0lUYHHFc

Enjoy - Bon Voyage!!

You get what you pay for I guess and if you want cheap you have to take a risk.

I fly with them regularly...... but it's definitely cattle-class. These days they are sometimes matched by others - or the difference is minimal - in which case I go with them (Easyjet aren't an option for me, they don't fly from Stansted to Faro). My next flight I with Jet2, better flight time, "nicer" service and not significantly dearer.

At the same time, Ryanair have turned the market on its head - and survived and thrived - so for that thanks are due. It's just that the service is offered with the famous "extras" and a large dose of begrudgery .... as both songs point out. You can no longer fly for pennies, but it's still far cheaper than flying used to be, overall - as long as you have the flexibility and the time to make use of the cheaper flights. At other times they are as expensive (or more expensive) as other companies..... and I refuse to pay premium prices for budget travel.
