It's an obvious workaround but I feel the "old person" was being somewhat petty and belligerent (asking for more than necessary to achieve what they needed to do) rather than "moral" in this story.

Remiinds me of "The Boys From the Black Stuff". "I am desperate," Father says the character to the priest. "Call me Dan" says the priest. "I am desperate, Dan" which I always hear as "I am Desperate Dan"
