Good job none of that namby-pamby EU Blue Flag legislation applies.... now there's a British Standard, the Brown Flag! It represents not only the state of the beaches, but the economy and much else now that after so many years, England has reintroduced Imperial corruption and incompetence.....

It's a small price to pay for the freedom to pretend we can now put a crown back on our pint glasses and overlook the fact that absolutely nothing has changed in that regard. The crown is still meaningless and decorative only; in fact you have to expressly make sure it can't be mistaken for a conformity marking.
But when you combine that freedom with the freedom to have a blue passport and the freedom to queue to leave the country, I think you'll find having shit on our beaches is a fair exchange.

Something for Farage and the "true" Brexiteers to get their teeth into - the EU have imposed a 25% tariff on some steel exports from the UK to NI.
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-62672105
No doubt some will foam at the mouth about this....... but of course it applies to SOME steel exports and is entirely based on prevention of exportation into the EU from NI without tariffs, when exportation direct from mainland UK is otherwise subject to them. I bet the headlines won't point out any of that...... just as they ignore the fact that the majority of AMs are supportive of the NIP and business organizations recognize that it has been a boon to exports, post-pandemic. :eh:

The answer to the issues of cross-channel migration is obviously for migrants to rock up to the UK border in Ireland and just walk across it, without the need for people smugglers or dangerous boats. Of course, they can't do that because the Republic is not part of Schengen and actively prevents such activities - again, not something the Brexiteers (or Unionists) mention.

Other than a brief mention in this forum, I don't think I've seen a single bit of publicity about Unboxed.

I wonder if £120m would be enough to get me a bus service that runs after 18.30 at night? Far better to w̶a̶s̶t̶e̶ spend it on the good old "metropolitan elite", eh?
