The Lib Dems have elected a new leader.
Ed Davey
In these tumultuous times, with a right wing government in power and a left wing opposition in disarray, we could do with a strong centre party.
It's sad but not surprising that it falls to The SNP to bring the government to heel
Dave/Ed can forget all about Jo swansong and her Left wing thinking delivered in a right wing style the maybe, just maybe he can reclaim the party's former glory.
I wish him well ##

I was not unhappy with Jo Swinson losing her seat. And I felt her undemocratic scrap Brexit stance put off any Brexiteers who might have voted LibDem to stop the person they did not want to win as well as many remainers.
I voted LibDem but had to hold my nose to do so.
And, no doubt to the anger of the "Woman's Hour" brigade voted for Ed Davey last time he stood and this time. Of course more women in top jobs as well as more BAME (especially of African origin) would be great but I vote for the best candidate.
Ed is a Christian, Layla is a Humanist and I am happy it was not the other way round. But if it had been Ed who had been the Humanist he would still have got my vote. Religious views would only have entered into my decision if I simply could not choose between them in any other way.
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler
