A waste of money, a destruction of a lot of important environmentally important places, people having to leave much loved homes and businesses destroyed to make way for it.

All it will do is bring more people to work in the South East and at a time when more workers will work at least part time from home.

The same amount of money could be spent on smaller jobs linking places in the Midlands and North far better than they are now. They have enough rail lines to London but getting from east to west is far more difficult.

But the buffoon loves a big project that will he will be known by. How much money was wasted on the garden bridge project when he was Mayor of London? Just think how many small projects that would have benefited Londoners that could have been spent on.

Save money on costly HS2 developments, by simply scheduling your meetings in Birmingham to start 30 minutes later.

The decision to "waste" or "invest" money was made long ago; the government can only "waste" or "invest" more by choosing to stop or continue now. The option to not spend billions or not destroy some homes on the route is no longer available.

All it will do is bring more people to work in the South East and at a time when more workers will work at least part time from home.

It should, however, be evaluated on the requirements of 2030 onwards not those of 2020. I wouldn't bet on there being too much capacity in the distant future!
