So, supposedly, an agreed revision the the NI protocol has been reached - and one that will meet all the seven red lines instisted upon by the DUP.

https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/busi ... 61277.html

Yet yesterday the DUP blocked the election of a speaker at Stormont for the 6th time.....

............ and Heaton-harris intends to delay calling a fresh election until January 2024.

There's more than a smell of porkies in the air!!

"Revealed: secret cross-party summit held to confront failings of Brexit"
An extraordinary cross-party summit bringing together leading leavers and remainers – including Michael Gove and senior members of Keir Starmer’s shadow cabinet – has been held in high secrecy to address the failings of Brexit and how to remedy them in the national interest, the Observer can reveal.

You can't put everything in the UK down to Brexit (much yes, but not all). British companies seem to have an ability to shoot themselves in the foot - particularly when it comes to "getting a bargain". Remember how much of the Brexit negotiations were because the Brexiteers were convinced that if they stayed tough they'd get it all? remember how well that turned out? Well the same thing with the supermarkets..... fruit and vegetables available in Europe, but noboby wants to do all the hard work of getting it to the UK for the lowest price..... so we miss out.

Of course, the supermarkets could cut their profits to ensure supply.... but there's a little cartel that keeps prices high to feed them. Butter in the UK, big market, no VAT as it's a "staple", cheapest c£1.99, premium £2.50-£2.75 (Kerrygold, President, etc.)... all due to "world prices". - Portugal, non-staple, smaller market, 8% VAT, premium butter €2.04 ... that's less than the cost of the cheapest in the UK. Go figure.....

that is not the fault of the sewage companies but us for not removing the seeds and placing them in the compost or "landfill" wheelie bin. Though in our case the black bin stuff is sent to the other end of the county to be incinerated.

Ummm, tomato seeds pass straight through you. My old tortoise was a champion planter......

Anyway, speaking of sh*t, you might have thought that Brexit was achieved by a minority, but now anychance to move forward is likely to be kyboshed by a minority that can't even raise a majority in their own province. After 100 years of getting their own way at home, unionists can't seem to understand that they no longer hold the whip hand.
