Amazon woes

Post by blythburgh » Thu Sep 14 2023 11:20am

So last Wednesday I used the Amazon vouchers I have been earning at MediaProbe to buy a couple of items for an animal and wildlife rescue charity in Norfolk. Karcher power washer will arrive on Sunday and Window vac on Monday. Er no, Vac on Sunday but Power washer is coming via Royal Mail here is tracking number. Cannot find it website says. This morning phone Royal Mail main office for us and charity. Hold on for 20 mins they say (at least that) but like me cannot find item using tracking number. Contact Amazon they say. Try to but end up in USA instead of UK office but followed what they told me to do. Phone number given does not exist. So try internet chat and they cannot help because I had spoken to USA people (in India I would guess). Start again and at last Mariya says package lost will send out again and will be there in next 2 days.

Spent over 2 hours this time trying to track it (on top of time already spent on other days). But they are giving me a £5 voucher as a "sorry". GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Now you can see why I like shopping instore. I get to see and touch the item and can take it away with me
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler

Lucky you. I have something coming from a merchant from overseas.... arrived in the UK (according to the tracker) and was given into the fair hands of Yodel. However, no contact to say it was on its way or anything else.

As I was out yesterday, I checked the tracker and it now says it was delivered and "left in a safe place". Errr, no. So I contacted Yodel, they claim it was lefy in my porch, which is open and can be seen from the road, however I am not exactly in a crime hot-spot. I ask if they have proof ogf delivery, they say they "cannot share it with me" via the online chat, but if I download the Yodel app...... I have no intention of downloading their app... and anyway, they just say contact the vendor.

I have done so, they have 48 hours to respond and then I can escalate my claim to the UK merchant. This is my first (and last) purchase through On-Buy. I am expecting little, but I paid via PayPal, so will claim through them if the others don't resolve the issue.

Buying online can be OK..... and at least Amazon are contactable - but sometimes it can be a PITA.

Just because I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get me
