#MSE Tip [Tailored Dog Food] [SPECIAL 80% Off First Box] @ Tails

If you're new to online tailored dog food company Tails.com*, you can get 80% off your first box when you enter the MSE Blagged code JUWEVP at the checkout, until 11.59pm on Mon 31 Aug. A box of dog food lasts for one month and your first box will include a portion scoop. The price and portion size of your box is based on info that you enter about your dog – see how it works below.

Delivery's free for mainland UK postcodes. Since we first featured this deal in June, we've had much positive feedback.

Important: When you complete your order, you'll be automatically enrolled into a monthly subscription service and after the first month, boxes will be charged at full price. However, you can pause or cancel this at any time (including within the first month) from your Tails online account if you don't want to continue with it, and you won't be charged for further deliveries.

We tested it out with one of our MSE dogs and Tails gave us 4.93kg of tailored dry dog food for £3.60 (norm £17.99) and 16 150g portions of wet food for £1.76 (norm £8.80) – so a total of £5.36 for the first box using our code (norm £26.79). When we looked at the supermarkets, we could get a 5kg bag of dry dog food from well-known brands for £8-£17 and 16 150g wet food packs for £8-£12, so £16-£29 in total, though obviously recipes and nutritional value are all different.

How does Tails.com work?
Tails.com offers 'tailored' dog food, based on some basic information you enter about your pooch, including age, breed and any medical or dietary requirements they have. You can then choose if you'd like wet or dry food, if your dog has any preferred flavours and if you'd like any treats included.

Your dog's unique recipe is then created and you can see a detailed breakdown of what's included and the different nutritional benefits. You can go back and edit the information about your dog before you buy anything.

There's not one set price for how much the food costs per month, as this depends on the particular recipe for your dog – though Tails has told us the average monthly price is about £25, so you could potentially get your first box for about a fiver. You can find out more on its pricing information page.

Our code gets you 80% off your first box only and then after that, a new box will be sent out each month at the full monthly amount shown, unless you cancel or pause your subscription.

Delivery's free to UK mainland postcodes – see 'More info' below for a list of places where delivery's not free.

MSE LAURA B SAYS:
While we're obviously not experts in dog nutrition, Tails.com has a 4.8/5 score on Trustpilot, from over 21,000 reviews. Tails says all of its food is developed by vets and nutritionists.

We've had positive feedback from MoneySavers, including Dian on Twitter who says, "My little girl absolutely loves her Tails food. I'd never change back! A very happy customer indeed!"

Similarly, MoneySaver Carol on Facebook says, "[I've] been giving my collie Tails for well over a year now & was the best thing I ever did! He's almost 11 yrs old now & believe it's given him a new lease of life! His energy level seemed to increase & was much more keen to go on longer walks. Passes his health check with flying colours! Would definitely recommend."

Free delivery isn't available if you live in Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands & Islands or Isle of Man – instead, delivery costs £2.99. Find out more on the Tails.com delivery info page.
