Love that. Finding gold or diamonds is never going to be a displeasure!

i have a modest collection of Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Bullion Coins stored in the bank. I bet that when I came to sell them one day there would be a buyer who was interested in something a little different.

they're a nice thing to own AAAT.
i have a little bit of physical gold at home, and various silver coins.. but the way to do it properly is to have gold/silver/platinum/palladium stored in commercial vaults.

A hard-to-describe feeling to just hold the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Bullion Coins in your hand. If it came to a single word I would say "surety".

IMHO, a bad idea to keep at home.

You are right about the diversification with gold/silver/platinum/palladium. I just went for gold as it has stood the test of time. Silver is good but you would need multiples of the weight of gold to equal the same value in pounds sterling, which would increase the storage costs. Commercial vaults are the way to go but I have safety deposit box at the bank with my now very old business account so it kind of works out well for me.

nice to know you can go to the bank for a dose of surety AAAT.
some vaults charge a percentage of value rather than weight..
and you don't know where i live.. :)

I only go to the bank to add something new. It's always a sacred event.

I don't really know much about commercial vaults. My business account with a safety deposit box has served me well. Plus a bonus I add the cost to my expenses. I don't tell the tax man that I'm keeping my personal gold in there!

I trust you know better than me as to how safe your house is. I, personally, wouldn't feel comfortable having that type of valuable items at home.

do you have a business account that includes access to a box AAAT?.. i didn't think they existed any more, and the truth is that HMRC wouldn't care.
