As I write, both the first and second class stamps price increases are both inflation beating and saving account beating returns.

Less mail so increase the prices. Increased prices puts more people off sending mail.

Yet somehow McVities consider it sensible and viable to mail people 2 biscuits (presumably they'll either go large letter business rate or more likely start off with a cheaper third party like Whistl but still delivered by Royal Mail).

There are evidently entirely different rates for senders of large volumes. I can't post books for the price of the cheaper items from World of Books and the like.
