Fake news

Or at least, a hugely misleading headline.

The story says that old (paper) £20 and £50 notes will be withdrawn at the end of the month - because they've been replaced by the polymer versions. AFAIK, Scottish banknotes are still paper and their validity is unchanged.

Also the article concerns 30th September 2022, not this year.

I've noticed Manchester Evening News pushing a significant amount of clickbait on social media recently.

Last date to use?? Not true, you will be able to pay them into any bank account after they are withdrawn. They will be still worth the value on the note. (Less inflation of course).
