It turns out my card was delivered to the wrong address, so it was delayed until a neighbour redirected it. Somehow in recent years Santander have often managed to address mailed correspondence incorrectly (missing an important line) despite previously sending out countless statements correctly, before they went paperless. So whether or not the PIN also eventually reaches me, remains to be seen!

all i've done today, as part of my 'round robin' cycling of money through accounts is put money in and the same value back out of this account. is that all we need to do, with no requirement for DDs or Ts?

Yeah, no specific requirements AFAIK, although I assume some light usage probably helps. I've done very little, just a few small transactions. My cashback is currently 'confirmed' status.

There is a 90-day validation period from the application date, after which Santander will confirm the transaction is valid. On meeting the criteria, any valid tracked purchases will be confirmed. Payment will take 4-6 weeks after this time.

Not switching. There's no switch offer right now.

It's time to get switching here, however my DDs are currently spread pretty thinly, so haven't got a plan together for trying this yet. It actually looks like new DDs could be acceptable, so perhaps best to request the switch ASAP and sort them out afterwards.

From today (18 March) customers can earn £185 when switching to an eligible Santander UK current account.

Open to both new and existing Santander UK customers, those using the Current Account Switching Service (CASS) to switch to either an Everyday Current Account, Santander Edge Current Account, Santander Edge Up Current Account, or Private Current Account v2, will, from today, earn £185.

To qualify for the £185 payment customers must:

• Complete the full switch within 60 days of requesting the switch process (including the closure of the old account).
• Pay in at least £1,500 within 60 days of requesting the switch process. (This does not need to be in one payment).
• Set up two active direct debits within 60 days. Direct debits to fund Santander, cahoot, or Cater Allen savings accounts do not count for the purposes of this offer.
• Continue to hold the qualifying current account on the day the payment is made.

Those eligible for the payment will get paid within 90 days of the switch process.

New customers can switch online through the Santander website, over phone, or in branch. Existing Santander UK customers must visit a branch to take advantage of this offer.
