Google Play card help needed

So, we bought a £10 Google Play card today and at home went to the website to put it on the phone. And every time the message comes up that you have to be in UK to redeem the card. The phone setting says it is in the UK.

DH has put on a card successfully before but very rarely. No idea what has gone wrong. Any ideas of what we should do?

Have you... ended up with a non-UK store account, e.g. by subscribing to YouTube Premium for a different country, or similar?

Thanks for reply but no I am sure DH has not. All very odd. But hopefully today it will be accepted but expecting the same thing. On the other hand miracles do happen lol
