A house near us has finally been sold at auction. It has not been lived in for about 50 years. No idea why the owners would not sell it or modernise it and let it out for an income. But I do know the local council had finally got involved and were pressing the owner to do something about it. It needs to be stripped back to the brickwork, completely replastering, central heating and double glazing. Floorboards may need replacing etc.

It sold for £118,000

And this one is in the centre of town and will bring in an income from a sitting tenant who has been there for 12 years paying £5,700 per annum. Double glazing, centre heating etc a snip at £80,000

Similar size of house and garden but the second one has a tiny piece of garden between the house and the road whereas the first one is hard onto the road.
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler
