Get a Natwest Reward CC and be like me and get 0.5p for every pound spent on the card.

And use Amazon Smile to support for a large, small or tiny charity (your choice from a huge list) to give them 0.5p for every pound you spend at Amazon
Keep smiling because the light at the end of someone's tunnel may be you, Ron Cheneler

Yes, seems to be another "opportunity" to rip off the British consumer offered by "taking back control".

First it was the withdrawal of roaming in Europe, once the mobile cos were free of the "shackles" of EU legislation (and, of course, no parallel legislation in the UK). Now it seems that Visa has decided to charge Amazon S.A., who process all UK charging, a 1.2% fee, up from the 0.3% fixed by the EU, hence the decision to end payment by UK Visa. Stupidly, non-UK Visa cards will still be accepted (and even more stupidly, many UK cards used to be handled by banks in Ireland...)

Turns out there is a minefield between us and any sunlit uplands!!

There's 2 months to go before the proposed implementation date - it'll be interesting to see if they work something out during that time.

It's just two big multinationals swinging their d1cks around. Exactly the same happened with McDonalds and Coke, when for a few years, you got a McDonalds Cola with your Macadees. Eventually they will reach a compromise.

That's true..... but whilst the transaction fees were limited by EU legislation, nobody complained. Now VISA have "taken back control" to rip us off ..... again.

Of course, the Tories will all be for less regulation and letting the market decide........ which works REALLY well in a market almost entirely controlled by two monolithic US companies.

Many customers have received an e-mail from Amazon inviting them to receive a £10 or £20 promotional credit for changing their default VISA credit card. The higher £20 reward is for Amazon Prime members. If you haven't received the e-mail or another recent promotion for adding an additional card, look out for a tile like this on the Amazon website or app:

Unfortunately, if you don't have a VISA credit card as your default payment method, already received a recent promotion for adding a card, or received an e-mail (as posted by macliam) that doesn't mention the £10 or £20 incentive, then you may not be eligible for this offer.
