The General Public being interviewed on the beeb keep saying they want a General Election. But before that can happen a Tory party leader needs to be elected. Any GE would have to happen after that. So there will have to be a period with a new PM (or am I missing something).
The monarch technically could dissolve parliament at any time, but he won't since it would pile a constitutional crisis on top of everything else. So we'll need to wait until the tories decide to trigger it themselves.

It's worrying that Boris is being talked about as a potential candidate or even PM.
There is a body of support for him, but you'd think the party would remember that it was Boris who got them into this mess in the first place. Reinstating him as PM would be like shooting themselves in the other foot.

My worry is, that will not stop them doing it.

Potential candidates need 100 MPs to nominate them (high bar). That will mean a maximum of three candidates. Nominations in by Monday.

Meanwhile, today in Suffolk, a charity set up to bring dentistry to Africa used a mobile unit to treat people who have no access to an NHS dentist.

This is England, 2022.

Marina Purkiss on twitter :

And the incompetent, self-serving, law-breaking, disgraced PM …

are apparently doing a deal over how they lead the country.

As they say, you couldn't make it up....
