Nice! No direct debits required in advance, we can instead create them within 30 days of switching!
Available to new and existing current account customers.

indeed. the TSB account i would transfer has 2 DDs to pension plans set up, but it’s nice to have the flexibility.
I’m always more confident re Incentives from the account providers themselves, as they usually come good / can be persuaded of their errors, whereas QC / TCB just go missing when it suits them.

does anyone happen to know whether this offer is likely to be ok if we open the account at a branch?

I've applied online. Awaiting decision, hopefully within 24 hours (up to max 5 days).

I was approved "subject to a few formalities" for a new account. If that doesn't work out, I'll switch into my existing account. Actually, thinking about that, perhaps I should try both regardless!

I see a new current account has appeared in my online banking, so must have opened successfully!
My switch date is at the end of this month - quite a wait. That was the earliest choice available, because they include plenty of contingency for new account opening being slow!

to answer my own question, yes. they weren't able to see me today though: have an appointment next thursday.
