Why has my claim has been rejected with the reason "Sale attributed to another marketing channel"?

This means that the merchant believes you were introduced to them by another website (not us) and they have paid that website the commission for the sale. Possible reasons for this are given below, but the bottom line is that we are not going to get paid for the sale and hence are unable to award your cashback. See My claim has been rejected and I don't understand why

The technology and processes used by merchants to track your sale can be complex, and were not originally designed with a cashback reward scheme in mind. In general, the merchant should pay us for a sale if our link was the last one used by you before visiting the merchant site and completing your transaction. However, there are several factors that can affect the tracking of transactions (see Why does some of my cashback show as "Rejected"?). The most common reasons for another website being credited with a sale are:

- At some point, you used a link on another website (e.g. google, price comparison, other reward site) to visit this merchant
- You used a special offer code / link not specifically recommended by us. Many voucher codes are linked to other websites and if you use them, we do not receive the commission with which to pay your cashback (whether or not you use our link just before making your transaction).
- Your PC is not correctly configured to allow transaction tracking (e.g. cookies not allowed), or you have some software installed which obstructs our tracking mechanism

Sometimes, your transaction will show up on your statement but subsequently get changed to "Rejected". This can happen because more than one tracking mechanism is in place and, initially, two or more websites get credited with your transaction. A process called "de-duplication" then takes place, which can result in the merchant cancelling your transaction on our site. Due to data protection, the merchant is not able to tell us the name of the other website that has been credited with your transaction.

To maximise the chances of your cashback tracking correctly in future, please read How can I make sure my cashback gets tracked?

We are constantly working with our merchants to improve tracking reliability, but there will always be a chance that your cashback will not get correctly tracked which is why we stress in our T&Cs that cashback can never be guaranteed

If a claim has been rejected, there is no further action we can take (but see "appeals" below). However, if you believe that a merchant has acted unfairly you are welcome to post your thoughts to the forums. We do monitor the performance of our merchants in dealing with claims and, if appropriate, we will remove them from our site
